ISSS 12
Event starts:
Fri, 03/07/2015
Event ends:
Fri, 10/07/2015 The International School/Symposium for Space Simulations (ISSS) was first held in Kyoto, 1982 initiated and for many years guided by Professors M. Ashour-Abdalla (USA), H. Matsumoto and T. Sato (Japan), and R. Gendrin (France). The school has subsequently regularly been held for over 30 years educating generations of young space plasma scientists in numerical simulation. Previous recent ISSS schools have been held, e.g. in Munich, Germany (2001, ISSS-6), Kyoto, Japan (2005, ISSS-7), Hawaii, USA (2007, ISSS-8), Paris, France (2009, ISSS-9), Alberta, Canada (2011, ISSS-10), and Taipeh, Taiwan (2013, ISSS-11) ISSS-12 meeting will adopt a classical scheme of ISSS events starting with the four day school followed by the four day symposium/conference. Continuing in a long-term tradition of the ISSS schools and symposia the programme will be devoted to teaching of space plasma simulation techniques and sharing of state-of-the-art simulation advances and results with researchers in plasma physics. ISSS-12 will bring together the most recent observational results, theoretical advances and numerical simulations to address the outstanding problems in space and astrophysical plasma physics. ISSS-12 is open to all members of the scientific community but participation by graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and young scientists are particularly encouraged. We look forward seeing you in Prague,
Jana Šafránková and Miroslav Bárta
