The Panoramic Radio Astronomy (PRA) conference was held in Groningen (the Netherlands) on 2-5 June 2009. It focused in particular on the following upcoming facilities: Aperture Tile In Focus (APERTIF), the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP), the Allen Telescope Array (ATA), the Expanded Very Large Array (EVLA), and the Karoo Array Telescope (MeerKAT). When organising this meeting, it was the feeling that little thought had been given so far to the combined strength of the next generation of radio telescopes, and the organisers sought to bring together the experts to advance that conversation.
