Activities ---------- Planning activities only were carried out, since hiring and work will take place in 2010. Internal discussions on possible candidates for hiring were held. For the Kickoff Meeting in March 2009, Alan Roy presented the RFI Mitigation algorithms of interest to be implemented, namely 1. Port Enno Middelberg's pielag to ParselTongue for automated spectral flagging based on medians and heuristics, and 2. Implement Roshi & Perley's Multi-Rate Filtering in the DiFX software correlator, to improve rejection of signals with high fringe rate like RFI. In April 2009, Alan Roy was informed by Enno Middleberg that Enno had carried out item 1 himself. For the Garching meeting in June 2009, Alan Roy presented the revised RFI Mitigation plans, dropping item 1. and introducing in its place RFI mitigation in focal-plane arrays.
