The letter expressing our concerns about the TNA accounting rules was received and we got a response from Hervé Perot. It looks like a lot of the very tight administrative regulations have been removed but one is still expected to indicate in the accounts where the costs of the infrastructure come from and have good rules for the assigning general accounts to the infrastructure.

The first periodic report was completed. There were 2 small issues concerning JIVE and ASTRON both were cleared after a visit to Brussels. After this the 2nd pre-financing was received and distributed between participants. The contract change including the no-cost extenstion, some budget changes in TNA and JRA was submitted. Also the reporting periods changed. Most activities only have to report in the 2nd report now. We are currently waiting for approval that is delayed by problems around an IBAN number.

The discretionary fund donated € 5000,- to the symposium for R. Schilizzi.

Problems / Issues

Corina Vogt accepted a job outside ASTRON so we had to look for a replacement for the remainder of the project and we are happy to have Megan Argo as our new project scientist. The management expects that TNA hourly rates may drop as a result of the new regulations, this would endanger the budget being completely spent. Some JRA's may be finished before June 30th and some NA may underspent, despite the meeting earlier this year.
